The unit does get very hot especially on the left side of it so I turn on a fan to blow cool air on it and it does the trick. My review is along the lines of the others. The other inconvenient thing is the unit doesn't have inputs for older things such as a tape deck or turntable.
I love the USB connection. Sounds amazing.
Nice. I put it on "all channel" for music CD's and stereo.
Not fully utilizing the surround sound capabilities, but I am satisfied with the "auto-surround" setting for watching DVD's. Fits nicely into my A/V system.I hook my laptop up to the USB, and then plug the laptop video into my 37" LCD TV.and watch streaming videos on UTUBE.
I have nothing bad to say about this product. I have the Bose Acoustimass 5 and VCS-10 center channel speakers hooked up.
Sleek design.
All in all this is an excellent product that is worth the price. Once set up everything runs through the device so that you change the setting on the reciever from Cable to DVD and the picture on the TV changes. Slim design, excellent sound and very easy to use. This was an upgrade from a previous JVC reciever that I had and this one was designed the same way that my previous one was. Also it is about the least expensive 7.1 reciever that I have found and easy backwards compatibility with 5.1 that I still use.
It is not worth the money. I should have returned it but for the moment it is in my garage under an inch of dust. This is the worst decision I've made in purchasing consumer electronics. The quality is quite ppor and the hype about persormance is just that - HYPE.
I had bought the device for its low profile, but perhaps that is its inherent problem. Therefore I have returned it to the seller and purchased a stereo amplifier as a replacement. On top of the case of the JVC RX-D206B is a white sticker printed in red with the message"Caution: To protect from risk of fire or electrical shock don't put any objects on top/sides, don't block them, and do keep proper ventilation." The case for this receiver/amplifier became too hot to touch, and since it was my intention to install this device in a cabinet for a bedroom music system, I felt it presented too much risk even with ventilation fans installed. In any case I either received a defective item or it suffers from a defective design.
